Surrounded by the rolling hills of Cowles Mountain and within walking distance to glistening Lake Murray, Del Cerro Manor is embraced by two of San Diego’s most breathtaking natural landscapes. Not far from the Interstate 8 freeway, family members and friends of residents will find Del Cerro Manor easily accessible for visitations and special events. Del Cerro is well-resourced with three of the largest hospitals: Kaiser Permanente, Grossmont, and Alvarado. The community also has a shopping center, a community park, and a library, essentials that bring charm and effortlessness, to the scenic San Diego neighborhood.

Benjamin D. Barth

Benjamin Barth is a native San Diegan, and has lived in the Del Cerro area for 30 years, and his journey in assisted living began 19 years ago in Los Angeles.  After graduating from the University of Judaism with a major in bio-ethics, a career in the medical field was apparently on the horizon.  However, a post-graduate trip to Israel led him away from medicine and towards the rabbinate.  While exploring his Jewish roots and heritage, Benjamin searched for a way to make a career which would unite his passion for medicine and community engagement.  Upon his return to the United States, he stayed with friends in Los Angeles who coincidentally owned and operated several assisted living homes.  His stay in Los Angeles proved to be a blessing and the turning point at which he realized his calling…to own and operate his own assisted living homes.  His strong humanitarian and philosophical senses impelled him to create the most stimulating, caring, and comfortable environment possible for San Diego’s senior population.
